Let’s get to work! Grounding is one of the most important things we can learn about ourselves. To quickly discern whether we are grounded or not is key for a happy day!
Grounding, in other words, may be helpful if you're feeling anxious and living in the past -- or the future -- but not in the present. If you're not grounded, your energy may be scattered everywhere (mentally, emotionally, and physically), and that is why you lose things, have "off" days, and sometimes feel clumsy. Grounding is a habit that connects you energetically to the earth. It allows you to be more authentically in your body and in the present moment. Grounding allows creativity to flow, giving birth to your visions and goals!
Being ungrounded makes it harder to create and achieve what you desire. It keeps you unfocused, easily distracted, in chaos, missing in action, feeling anxious, powerless and unsafe. It can make you feel like you are out of control because you are easily influenced by your environment and other people’s feelings. Have you noticed when you can’t concentrate that you feel spacey and out of your body? Like you aren’t relating or functioning as well as you’d like to on the physical level?
Sometimes we tend to lean more into the "thinking" and not "feeling"-- more in our heads than in our bodies. You think about your feelings rather than feel them. This means you are ungrounded -- but it's all good, we all have been there.
We will work with some beautiful meditations, remove seeds and rooted old stories about ourselves, observe who we are and what we look like when we are not grounded, and learn the tools that work the quickest and fastest for us to Come to Now!
So say no more, enjoy!
Let's start with a monthly practice. One that we feel comfortable using when we start to feel anxious or stressed. But most importantly, one that will reset our nervous system, change our patterns, and allow us to live in a more grounded way.
Through meditation, we are able to clear the mind by allowing all the emotions and commotions to settle down and allow what truly IS to come forward for us to see, for us to recognize our true nature. A grounding meditation is a workshop for your root center. It is a way to put our energetic feet on the ground and come forward to the present. These two Kundalini practices passed by Yogi Bhajan, the master of Kundalini Yoga, will help you release conscious and subconscious fears that cause stress, worry, and anxiety.
These meditations will calm and balance your mind and help you relax and reduce stress and anxiety (A.K.A. living in the future and not being grounded at all). A grounding meditation is a great way to regain stability and connect to earth. Stress and anxiety can cause you to feel detached from the world around you and the floor beneath you. Grounding through meditation can help you balance and center your mind and body and regain control. So if you need a simple and fast way to calm down and relax, try this way to balance yourself and fight anxiety and panic attacks -- or simply to just relax and feel like you are a part of it all.
Pick a mediation that appeals to your heart. Practice it for the next 30 days. Commit to it, commit to you. Use our October calendar, checking the box next to every day you gave yourself time for you. But be kind to yourself. It's OK to miss a day here and there -- it isn't a competition, it is just self-care.

~ OCTOBER ~
YOUR GROUNDING SPIRITUAL TOOLS
Let’s set some intentions for this month and work with them throughout the weeks to come. The moon and its four faces allow us to stay on track with a set intention. By doing so, we are setting a commitment with our desires and our actions as well as releasing old patterns and stories that are holding us back. Take some time every week to review the moon chart, and follow up with your intention and how it develops throughout the month.
This helps us stay grounded by pledging to follow through on our earthly duties. Grounding is about being present in our actions -- and if we stay committed on a weekly basis, there is no room for anxiety, nor past or present fears. Keeping an eye on your behavior when you are NOT grounded is as important as knowing who you are when you are grounded. Take some time to write it down. How do you show up? Do you lose things? Feel more emotional? Take things more personally? Let’s show our mind we notice these patterns, we are aware of them, and we are taking charge. Let's get really honest and change patterns that no longer serve us.
This one might be my favorite. It has no agenda other than checking in. You don’t need to analyze, solve, or decide anything -- just acknowledge where you are now, showing love and only love to wherever that is and whatever arises.
That compassionate honesty becomes the foundation for whatever comes next. This serves as a reminder to treat yourself with kindness and to be intentional about drawing yourself back into the present.
When you’re feeling aimless, vaguely unhappy, or overwhelmed, asking yourself what you want to remember most from right now can help you regain a sense of meaning and purpose. And if you’re feeling overjoyed and optimistic, it can help you nurture those feelings.
Whether you are or you’re not, the best thing you can do is be honest about it.
I’ve had my “no” moments, but I was so far from my truth that I couldn’t admit it. Those were the times when I spent more time acting than living. I think the hope was to find connection and happiness, but it only ever left me feeling so far from myself that I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted out of life.
So, what’s changed? The goals I set, the expectations I hold myself to, my perceived obligations, the way I speak to myself, the way I speak to others, and the power I give others in my life. Taking time to reflect this month showed me that even when life is speeding by, it’s still the here and now that contains infinite riches.
Practice this before you fall asleep or in the morning. “Grounding and centering” is a visualization and meditation exercise you can use to focus yourself on the present and learn to feel more whole, more aware. Try it whenever you are stressed, worried, or nervous. The image of a tree evokes feelings of stability and connectedness for many people. This may take some practice, but with diligence, you may find that this exercise helps you live in the moment.
